Summary
As a Policy Advisor, you will provide strategic advice on complex aviation policy and regulatory matters to ensure Airservices meets its responsibilities and achieves its objectives.
Part of your charter is to draft and coordinate written material including ministerial submissions, briefing papers, and parliamentary documents.
Preparation of briefing materials for Senate Estimates and other parliamentary processes is key and you are renowned for your ability to provide strong policy advice, research and analysis on complex issues.

The Role & The Team
Reporting to the Senior Policy Advisor, Government Relations in the Government Regulatory and International Engagement Branch you will work collaboratively with staff at all levels across Airservices and bring your extensive knowledge of Australia’s aviation policy and regulatory environment (or similar government experience) to the flight deck and beyond!
You’ll work closely with senior executives and collaborate across the organisation to influence policy outcomes that support our strategy and legislative obligations.

The Person
You are an experienced policy professional and thrive in complex, dynamic environments where you can demonstrate your proven ability to translate technical information into clear, actionable policy positions.
The skills and competencies required include:
5–10 years in policy, regulatory, or legal roles within government or aviation.
Tertiary qualifications in aviation, safety, law, or a related discipline (desirable).
Extensive knowledge of Australia’s aviation policy and regulatory environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information.
Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
