The Role & The Team 

The Western Sydney International Airport (WSIA) as a whole, is being delivered by a number of Portfolios across Airservices, to include Airspace design Digital Aerodrome Services, Airfield Systems and Aviation Rescue & Fire Fighting Services & Facilities (ARFFS).  This role will be dedicated to the Western Sydney and Canberra Portfolio however will be coordinating with all portfolios involved in delivering other components of WSIA. 

As a hands-on Change and Communications Specialist, you’ll take the lead in crafting and delivering impactful communication strategies to drive organisational change. Partnering closely with Program and Project Teams, you’ll create compelling materials, provide expert communication advice, and support engagement activities to ensure readiness and adoption. With proven experience managing multiple projects, you’ll deliver clear, consistent messaging that embeds change and inspires action across the organisation. 

  • Design, develop and manage strategic and tactical change communications, engagement, and activities to ensure that our people are fully aware of progress and equipped to transition to the new way of working with minimal disruption and a reasonable degree of comfort.  

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with the Portfolio/Program/Project team to ensure that there is coordination of change and communication activities in support of the Portfolio’s objectives.  

  • Work actively with the Internal and External Communications teams to ensure 1) all communications are aligned with organisational messaging, and 2) your work is coordinated with other communications being presented to your shared audience

The Person 

  • Demonstrated communications experience in planning, develop, implement and evaluate information and communication strategies that create an understanding of the change plan. 

  • Deliver and apply a plan for change and communication management including principles, techniques, and tools. 

  • Proven experience in drawing on people and culture priorities to align and shape the required change whilst applying a “think outside the box” and challenge the status quo to get better outcomes. 

  • Planning and Project management capability.  

  • Experience working with the PROSCI change methodology and understanding and experience in how to apply change and adoption frameworks in agile, waterfall and hybrid settings 

  • Sound problem-solving ability with the competence to negotiate and resolve conflict successfully
