Fleet Lead

Summary

Lead the national fleet function that keeps Australia's aviation rescue and firefighting services operational. Drive fleet strategy, maintenance excellence and engineering capability while leading a highly skilled team supporting critical emergency response assets across the country.

The Organisation

Airservices Australia is responsible for the safe and efficient management of Australian airspace and the provision of Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services at Australia's busiest airports.

Our people are our greatest asset, with teams operating across metropolitan, regional and remote locations throughout Australia. Together, we play a critical role in keeping the aviation industry moving safely while supporting communities, tourism, trade and economic growth.

At Airservices, you'll join an organisation with a genuine sense of purpose, where your work directly contributes to the safety and resilience of the nation's aviation network. We offer flexibility, development opportunities and the chance to build a meaningful career in a unique and evolving environment.

Our Leaders

Leaders at Airservices create an environment where people can perform at their best, collaborate effectively and contribute to meaningful outcomes.

We value leaders who bring strategic thinking, strong communication skills and a people-first approach. Our leaders foster inclusive, high-performing teams and are committed to developing capability while delivering results.

The Role & The Team

As Fleet Lead, you'll be responsible for the national fleet function supporting Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) across Australia.

Leading a team of Fleet Engineers and Emergency Vehicle Technicians (EVTs), you'll oversee a diverse and highly specialised fleet including aviation rescue firefighting vehicles, domestic response vehicles and marine assets operating across airports nationwide.

This role combines fleet planning, maintenance and engineering leadership, ensuring critical assets remain safe, compliant and operationally ready whenever they're needed. You'll guide fleet lifecycle planning, support the introduction of new vehicle capability, oversee maintenance programs and ensure the fleet continues to meet the evolving needs of operational firefighting teams.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a broad range of stakeholders across operations, engineering and major projects, including supporting the rollout of new fleet investments that will shape the future of ARFFS capability across Australia.

This is a genuinely unique opportunity to lead one of Australia's most specialised fleet environments, combining technical leadership with meaningful national impact. With regular travel across the country, you'll gain exposure to operational environments ranging from major capital city airports to regional and remote locations.

People enjoy working in this team because of the purpose behind the work. Every vehicle, maintenance decision and engineering improvement contributes directly to supporting frontline emergency response capability and keeping Australia's aviation network safe.
