Airservices Australia is seeking a Senior Physical Security Specialist to join our Security and Resilience team. In this specialist role, you'll provide expert advice and leadership across physical security governance, compliance, risk management and enterprise security uplift initiatives, helping protect our people, facilities, information and operational assets.

The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Security Policy and Assurance Lead, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and assuring physical security arrangements across Airservices' national footprint. You'll work at the intersection of physical, personnel, information, cyber and operational security, translating security obligations into practical controls and sustainable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing specialist advice on physical security governance, risk and compliance matters.

- Developing and maintaining physical security policies, procedures and facility security plans.

- Leading certification and accreditation activities for Physical Security Zones (PSZ2-PSZ4).

- Supporting compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), ASIO Technical Notes and relevant aviation security legislation.

- Conducting physical security risk assessments across facilities, projects and operational environments.

- Supporting audits, inspections, assurance programs and enterprise security uplift initiatives.

- Managing physical security incidents, investigations and remediation activities.

- Building effective relationships across operations, facilities, ICT, project teams, regulators and security providers to achieve positive security outcomes.

The Person

You are a highly capable security professional with strong technical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex operational environment.

You'll bring:

- At least five years' experience in protective security, ideally within aviation, critical infrastructure, government or Defence environments.

- Strong knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

- Experience managing Physical Security Zone (PSZ) certification and accreditation activities.

- Knowledge of ASIO Technical Notes and Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) requirements.

- Experience conducting security risk assessments and implementing security controls.

- Strong analytical, advisory and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.

- Experience supporting security uplift, transformation or remediation programs.
