The Role & The Team

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Finance Advisor to join the Capital Portfolio Management team within the CFO Group.

This role will provide strategic financial and commercial support across major portfolios, including BE (Built Environment), WSIA (Western Sydney International Airport), SLUI (Service Level Upgrade Implementation) and Uncrewed initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to drive strong financial governance, deliver meaningful insights, and support informed decision-making across large-scale investment programs.

In this role, you will:

- Provide financial reporting, analysis and insights to support portfolio-level decision-making

- Partner with Portfolio Leads and Project Managers to deliver commercial advice and financial governance

- Lead the development and management of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans (OPEX/CAPEX and 5-year investment plans)

- Oversee month-end activities, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting

- Support business cases and capital submissions, including financial impact assessments

- Develop and improve financial frameworks, tools, and processes

- Act as a trusted advisor across the organisation, influencing stakeholders and driving collaboration

- Build capability by coaching teams and uplifting commercial acumen across project environments

The Person

You are a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in complex, project-based environments, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

You will bring:

- Extensive experience in financial analysis, reporting, and commercial advisory

- Strong understanding of asset accounting and investment lifecycle management

- Proven ability to operate in large, matrix organisations with multiple stakeholders

- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and financial modelling tools

- Highly developed communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills

- A proactive mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure

Qualifications:

- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or related field

- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) desirable
