The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Asset Planner – Master Planning to develop and drive long‑term building and infrastructure master plans that underpin Australia’s aviation network. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our diverse asset base continues to support safe, efficient and sustainable operations.
Reporting to the Built Environment Asset Planning Team Leader, you'll balance strategic planning, technical insights, sustainability considerations and stakeholder collaboration to deliver high‑value outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and implementation of long‑term building master plans aligned with organisational strategy and future growth needs.
- Assess the condition and performance of infrastructure to identify optimisation, repurposing and integration opportunities.
- Embed sustainability, resilience and risk‑management principles into all planning processes.
- Produce high‑quality documentation including technical reports, business cases and concept designs.
- Monitor emerging technologies, regulatory requirements and best practice trends to enhance planning outcomes.
- Progress master plans into Asset Class Management Plans (ACMPs) and support investment submissions.
- Collaborate with asset owners, service advisors, facility managers and project teams to align plans with operational needs.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise, mentoring and peer review across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with governance, safety, environmental and regulatory frameworks.

The Person
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Management or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in building master planning, infrastructure strategy or large‑scale facilities planning within a complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of building and infrastructure systems, asset lifecycle management and TCO modelling.
- Highly developed analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience applying Australian standards, building codes and planning regulations.
- Proven ability to communicate complex information effectively through written reports and presentations.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, risk and performance.
- Experience leading projects or workgroups within technical or asset management environments.
