The Role & The Team

In this new role, you will lead the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of a system-wide approach to talent and careers management across Airservices.

You will also be responsible for defining and embedding an integrated talent lifecycle that supports the attraction, development, and retention of critical and high-potential talent, leadership, and specialist roles. This includes developing and operationalising a careers framework, succession planning, and delivering priority talent and careers programs that embed our diversity and equity commitments.

Working closely with the Talent and Capability team a major component of the role will be contributing significantly to the review and development of the existing Capability Framework to build a future-ready workforce.

Reporting to the Head of Talent and Capability you will also provide input into the design and development of an Employee Value Proposition (EVP) that reflects our purpose, values, and strategic priorities. You will then lead the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the EVP to ensure it is embedded across the employee lifecycle from attraction through to talent identification and management.

Key Functions of the role include:

  • Lead initiatives that align talent and careers practices with the People and Culture Operating Model, supporting the successful delivery of the People and Culture Strategic Priorities.
  • Define and embed a system-wide, integrated talent lifecycle that supports the attraction, development, and retention of critical, scarce, and high-potential talent.
  • Lead the design and implementation of a contemporary careers framework that supports internal mobility, career progression, and workforce agility
  • Ensure the Airservices EVP is embedded across the employee lifecycle, from attraction through to retention and development.

The Person

  • Ability to lead enterprise-wide talent and careers strategies
  • Design and embed EVP and capability frameworks
  • Awareness and application of a DE&I lens to talent initiatives
  • Influence and build trust with senior leaders and cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Confidence in facilitating workshops and engagement activities
  • A strong communicator with clarity and impact
  • Prior experience in government owned enterprises would be advantageous.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, OD, Psychology, or Business
  • Postgrad qualifications in HR, DE&I, or OD (desirable)
  • 5–10 years in senior HR, OD, or Talent roles
