The Role & The Team 

As an Instrument Flight Procedure (IFP) Designer at Airservices Australia, you’ll play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining flight procedures that support safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible aviation operations under Part 173 services. 

Your work will be guided by ICAO, CASA, and Airservices technical and safety standards, contributing directly to a high-performing, regulated environment that upholds our strong record in safety, environmental management, risk, and compliance. 

You’ll be part of a high performing, collaborative and accountable Airspace & Flight Path Design team, where precision and operational excellence matter.

The Person 

  • Strong preferences for qualifications in ICAO PANS-OPS Doc 8168 & Doc 9905 and experience in Instrument Flight Procedure Design  

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver work on time with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a dynamic environment which often experiences tight deadlines and prioritisation of conflicts  

  • Exceptional written communication skills – able to draft clear, concise, and professional correspondence, reports, and documentation tailored to diverse stakeholders across the business. 

  • Strong numerical and analytical capability – comfortable interpreting data, performing calculations, and identifying discrepancies with accuracy and confidence. 

  • High attention to detail – consistently delivers accurate work, maintains data integrity, and ensures compliance with processes and policies, even in high-volume or fast-paced environments.

Security Clearance  

To be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent resident as an ASIC is required for this role.
