The Role & The Team
As a Field Maintenance Regional Manager, you will ensure the safety and integrity of the National Airways System, overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance across your region. Leading technically diverse teams, you’ll drive efficient service delivery, manage key regional relationships, and uphold strict regulatory and safety standards in a high-reliability aviation environment.
- Ensure safe, efficient maintenance and installation services, complying with CASA, statutory regulations, and Airservices standards.
- Monitor service impacts, take action to restore operations, and provide updates to senior management.
- Align service delivery with customer needs, strategies, and budget constraints while managing financial and personnel delegations.
- Optimise workforce resourcing, resolve regional service issues, and oversee supplier contracts and performance.
- Exercise financial delegations and manage costs within budget
- Analyse key performance metrics, improve business processes, and address non-compliance issues.
- Conduct field assurance activities, ensure site safety, and support audits and corrective actions.
- Provide expertise and resources for investment programs and strategic initiatives.
- Lead and manage your team in alignment with Airservices values, fostering a "One Team, First Team" mindset to develop regional and national service capability beyond geographical boundaries.
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of installation and maintenance services while demonstrating safety behaviours aligned with enterprise strategies and regulatory standards.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications include:
- Demonstrated capability or line management experience in maintenance support of critical and operational technical systems and associated infrastructure and facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability in an autonomous and remote work environment exercising exceptional levels of initiative and judgment in both an independent and team situation.
- Demonstrated communication skills of the highest order, with the ability to converse on technical, financial and people related matters at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated financial management within an assigned budget
- Demonstrated ability to lead the reviews of current procedures and practices with a view to reducing or removing non-value added activities leading to the continuous improvement of maintenance management systems and processes.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple remote maintenance bases which will include office, workshops and site storage.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of the practices and requirements of 'Fairness and Diversity', 'Work Health and Safety' and 'Values Based Leadership' and the demonstrated commitment to manage the practical application of these principles in the workplace.
Desirable
- A sound knowledge of Airservices airways systems maintenance practices and procedures, regulatory compliance and safety management systems.
Qualifications
Essential
- Appropriate tertiary or industry specific leadership qualifications or evidence of relevant equivalent knowledge.
- Australian Citizenship
- Australian Drivers Licence.
- Ability to obtain Aviation Security Identification Card
Desirable
- Degree or Diploma in radio, communications, electrical or electronic engineering, computer science, information technology or equivalent qualifications.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
