The Role & The Team

In recognition of the complexity of audits that are expected from Internal Audit the operating model for the team has been strengthened with the introduction of two new Principal Auditor roles.  This enables us to enhance our audit skill and experience levels to continue to support the Board Audit & Risk Committee, the CEO, and the Executive team as the organisation progresses through its program of significant change.

The Principal Auditors are the primary support to the Audit Manager to complete the planned audits.  As a Principal Auditor, you are empowered to perform audits independently.  This means that the Audit Manager will provide oversight as required by the Global Internal Audit Standards, rather than supervision.  We expect that critical thinking will be applied to all audits and a practical rather than theoretical approach to the control environment is applied.  Strong verbal and written communication is also required, meaning that the Audit Manager isn’t required to provide detailed supervisory support.

As a Principal Auditor you can expect to work across portfolios, programs, and projects of significance to the organisation, technology audits, and other performance audits.
