As the Information Architect within the OneSKY Integration program you will work in collaboration with  both Airservices and Department of Defence personnel, to analyse, design, develop and implement advanced data architecture required to integrate CMATS into Airservices corporate and mission systems to enable OneSKY program outcomes.. You’ll both support and drive initiatives across data standards, security, governance and analytics, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy, safety and compliance objectives.  

 

You’ll play a pivotal role in:

  • Developing scalable information architecture for systems handling up to and including PROTECTED-level data
  • Mapping information flows across Air Traffic Management (ATM) Systems.
  • Embedding governance frameworks and supporting the enterprise information domain
  • Collaborating across teams to integrate data strategy into larger service plans.

The Organisation

Airservices is a government owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry.
Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers. The OneSKY Program will enable civil and military air traffic controllers to jointly manage Australia’s airspace (11% of global airspace) and together under OneSKY, Airservices and Defence will deliver more efficient air services, while supporting future air traffic growth and national security.

The OneSKY Australia Program is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of Airservices next generation services including the future Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS) through the Program – a joint activity with the Department of Defence.

The Role – sound like you?

As the Information Architect, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the Integration Program, collaborating closely with Airservices and Department of Defence teams. You’ll analyse data requirements and design future-ready data structures to seamlessly integrate new systems into corporate and mission-critical platforms.

You’ll engage with stakeholders across business operations, programs, and projects, including the Enterprise Architecture and Testing Centres of Excellence, and Data Management SMEs. In this dynamic role, you’ll monitor and report on data-related issues, risks, and escalations, while bringing a solution-focused mindset to ensure alignment with key project milestones.

Our wish list for your exceptional contribution includes:

  • Degree or tertiary level qualification in Information Management, Data Management, or related discipline - Desirable
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders with varying degrees of information and data management knowledge.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working on developing / modernising Enterprise Data Models.
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and guiding business stakeholders with data domain knowledge.

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience in designing data architectures for high-availability, real time, mission critical systems.
  • Certification in TOGAF and Technology (AWS S3, Informatica, Snowflake, Power BI) – Desirable not essential.
  • Experience in designing data architectures for high-availability, real time, mission critical systems.
  • Experience within an Air Traffic Control and/or Airport Tower Control systems fields advantageous however not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in contemporary data architecture and platforms. Conceptual knowledge of Cloud based technologies, data warehousing techniques, big data and SQL, and database design key concepts.

Security Clearance

To be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian citizen as an Australian Government AGSVA Negative Vetting Level (NV1), is desirable for this role.
