The Role & The Team
Reporting to the Senior Policy Advisor, Government Relations in the Government Regulatory and International Engagement Group (Chief Customer and External Relations Officer) you will work collaboratively with staff across Airservices to assist with the management and coordination of activities across a range of functions.
With no two days the same, you will complete high quality research and analysis contributing to the team’s work through effective and highly polished organisation and communication skills. Your ability to provide specialist knowledge in the drafting of advice, briefs, submissions and correspondence while also providing research on matters relating to government policy and regulation is pivotal to your success.

The Person
Your significant relationships include the Office of the CEO; Portfolio Program Delivery; senior leaders, specialists, and executives as well as external stakeholders including but not limited to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts; Public Works Committee Secretariat; Rural and Regional Affairs Committee secretariat, Department of Finance; offices of Members of Parliament and Senators.
Therefore, the skills and competencies required include:
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, initiative, manage priorities and work independently.
- Experience working in or with a government department or a regulatory agency is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage high workloads, set priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively and flexible to changing circumstances and priorities
- Proven ability to establish strategic relationships to deliver outcomes
- Experience in working with different organisational cultures and in geographically dispersed programs.
