About Us:

Airservices Australia, a government-owned entity, oversees the safe and efficient management of 11% of the world’s airspace and provides Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting services at Australia’s busiest airports.

 

The Exciting Opportunity:

Aviation Fire Fighter- Safeguard aircraft passengers and crew.

 

Duties

  • Provide critical rescue and first-aid services
  • Offer expert fire safety advice
  • Educate on firefighting techniques
  • Tackle emergencies, from aircraft incidents to fires
  • Embrace both physical and mental challenges, with a roster system that ensures a healthy work-life balance.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional physical and mental strength
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under extreme pressure
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Current driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends 

 

Location:

We’re looking for passionate individuals to join our team at our Port Hedland Station.

 

Training:

Full training is provided (Certificate II in Public Safety awarded upon completion) you will earn while you learn every aspect of what it takes to be a world class Aviation Rescue Fire Fighter. All initial training is conducted out of our academy located in Melbourne. Upon completion of this training, you will then move to your home station.  Further details provided below;

 

Duration:11 weeks,

Location: Melbourne Airport, Airservices Compound

Perks: Paid training with accommodation / allowances provided

Salary:

During Training: $52,488 per annum plus superannuation + allowances

Post-Qualification: $73,509 per annum + $17,240 remote locality allowance + 14 % superannuation

Certification

PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations)

Awarded by our Registered Training Organisation (RTO 5168)

 

Entry Standards & Minimum Requirements

All applicants must submit a formal online application and meet the minimum entry standards.

Applicants must also attend a physical aptitude test and assessment centre during the recruitment process. 

Please note that travel expenses for testing are not reimbursed.
