The Role & The Team
As an Electrician (General Services Officer), you will be part of a high performing team who are responsible for carrying out maintenance and installation activities on critical air traffic control and aviation rescue and firefighting systems, ensuring the operational safety and integrity of the Australian national airways system. The position is Adelaide based and will involve some travel throughout the State.
What you’ll do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with prescribed processes, procedures and standards.
- Support the safe and reliable operation of Airservices' airways systems and associated equipment.
- Maintain awareness of the impact maintenance activities have on operational systems and services.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into maintenance management systems.
- Coach and support the development of other team members within the workgroup.
- Participate in safety, environmental, risk, compliance and governance activities.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery and work practices.
- Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve operational outcomes.

The Person
The successful applicant will have:
- Relevant electrical trade qualifications and current State Electrical Licence.
- A strong commitment to working in a team environment with a focus on delivering the highest level of customer service.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- The ability to develop knowledge and understanding of the policies, procedures, and legislation relevant to the position.
- Ability to develop knowledge and experience performing maintenance and installation activities on electrical systems such as, power reticulation, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), standby generating sets, air conditioning control, DC power and battery systems.
The following qualifications are essential to be considered for this role:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
- State Electrical Licence
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Construction industry White Card
- Current CPR/LVR desirable
- Forklift license desirable
