The Role & The Team

As a Procurement Specialist within the Procurement Services team, you will partner with stakeholders across the Technology & Digital portfolio to deliver strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier management outcomes that maximise value from third-party expenditure. You will provide expert advice on acquisition strategies, procurement processes and commercial negotiations while ensuring compliance with organisational frameworks and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR).

 

Reporting to the Procurement Services Lead, you will collaborate closely with leaders, project managers and suppliers to drive procurement excellence, supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll join a collaborative team that prides itself on delivering practical commercial outcomes, building strong stakeholder relationships and supporting the organisation's strategic objectives

The Person

You are a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, solving complex business challenges and delivering compliant, value-driven outcomes. You bring a proactive approach, strong communication skills and the confidence to influence and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, sourcing, contract management and supplier management.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR).
  • Experience working within Commonwealth Government, Government-owned corporations or highly regulated procurement environments.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply complex procurement frameworks, policies and governance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess expenditure trends, financial data and lifecycle costs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills with a focus on delivering commercially astute outcomes.
  • Experience using ARIBA or a similar procurement management system.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related discipline (desirable)
