The Role
The Technical Scheduling Specialist is responsible for optimising the allocation and deployment of technical resources within a high-reliability maintenance environment.
You will contribute to the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities in line with approved standards, ensuring the ongoing performance and reliability of critical airways systems that support safe aircraft operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining medium- to long-term maintenance schedules.
- Coordinating and integrating work packages across operational teams.
- Ensuring alignment between workforce capability and operational priorities.
- Supporting the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of maintenance services.
- Responding to operational changes, short-notice adjustments, and escalations.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safety of Australia’s aviation network and the travelling public.

The Person
You are an experienced scheduler with a strong understanding of maintenance planning in a complex, high-reliability environment.
You will bring:
- Proven experience managing maintenance schedules using SAP PM (preferably GWOS).
- The ability to develop accurate and integrated preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and project schedules.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused. approach.
- Experience working collaboratively across teams to achieve operational outcomes.
- The ability to prioritise, adapt, and manage competing demands in a dynamic environment.
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement. You demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and consistently role model Airservices’ values.
Skills and Experience
- Significant experience in maintenance scheduling within a high-reliability organisation.
- Strong knowledge of scheduling practices, standards, systems, and processes.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM).
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including modelling capability.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to WH&S and Equity & Diversity principles.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a planning/scheduling role in a similar environment.
