The Role & The Team
Aerodrome Technology branch, supporting the National Airways System (NAS) across Australia and international aviation partners, is expected to grow from 16 to 25 team members—creating exciting career opportunities. As part of this expansion, roles like Project Engineer offer exposure to cutting-edge aviation systems, involvement in national infrastructure projects, leadership development, and hands-on experience across the full engineering lifecycle. The Project Engineer is a key role within the Project. The role will provide technical and system engineering expertise to ensure the technical capability meets the required standard of a tower service.
- Play a pivotal role in delivering systems engineering across all stages of the ATRP, from acquisition to implementation, supporting design, development, testing, installation and verification, while ensuring compliance with Airservices safety standards and contributing to key engineering reviews and documentation.
- Support program’s site installation, set-to-work, test and verification activities
- Support technology change process, ensuring effective configuration management and change control

The Person
This is a fantastic opportunity for multiple Systems Engineers or Systems Technologists with several years’ industry experience to join an amazing team environment. You will have experience performing systems engineering for a variety of complex and distributed software-based systems across the full system lifecycle.
Your exceptional communication skills will be used to liaise with a variety of senior management, engineers, project managers, and technical support personnel across Australia.
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Engineering or Information Technology from an Australian tertiary institution or certified equivalent qualification (for overseas qualifications)
- Able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government National Security Clearance at NV1 level.
- Experience in the design, development, testing and implementation of robust and reliable software systems. This includes the over-arching aspects of quality assurance and configuration management.
