The Role
Airservices Australia is on a journey of transformation & optimisation with strong focus on our people. As such, we are looking for an experienced and passionate senior leader to support our people capabilities & overall organisational deliverables as the Head of Talent and Capability in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney.
Reporting directly to the Chief People and Culture Officer, you will ultimately be responsible for driving the design, development and execution of our organisation's strategic talent and capability plans across Australia including Leadership Development, Talent & Capability and Talent Acquisition functions.
Unlike other positions, this is a combination of operational hands-on delivery & strategic thinking. Additional core role responsibilities include the following.
• Develop & execute our organisation’s talent strategies
• Deliver expert advice to our Executive Leadership Team & Board
• Identify & implement strategies to combat critical talent-based capabilities
• Drive & encourage a high-performance culture with clear accountability & results
• Coach, develop & retain high-performing teams & leaders
• Develop & implement policy framework & procedures to ensure compliance Lead transformational change initiatives across functions
• Monitor and report on the performance of our Talent and Capability Department
• Oversee impactful L&D programmes including executive leadership training
• Model the Know Me, Focus Me, Value Me leadership standard
The Person
As this is a key leadership position where you will directly influence and impact the future of our people and organisation, we do require an experienced senior leader and talent & capability expert. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our people and the broader organisation and therefore, we are looking for the following in our successful candidate.
• Master’s degree (MBA, Organisational Psychology, Business) or equivalent
• Experience working directly with C-suite Executives & Board Members
• Cross-function management experience within talent lifecycle departments
• Proven ability to interpret strategy & policy to set & deliver talent objectives
• Strong leadership & management skills which build high-performing teams
• Competent with creating & implementing guidelines, policies & frameworks
