The Role & the Team
Are you passionate about shaping the future of Australia’s airspace and air traffic management? Airservices is seeking a Senior Stakeholder Specialist to lead strategic engagement with Australian Government departments and agencies. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fostering collaboration, aligning objectives, and influencing policy to drive modernisation in airspace management.
As a key representative of Airservices, you will build strong, trust-based relationships with senior government officials, including within the Department of Defence. You will support executive decision-making, provide strategic insights, and lead engagement efforts to ensure Airservices is effectively positioned within government priorities. Your expertise will be essential in driving cross-agency alignment and advancing aviation innovation.

Your ability to connect and amplify progress by working closely with senior executives, leaders and stakeholders is second to none.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain high-trust relationships with senior government officials to align objectives and enhance decision-making.
- Lead strategic engagement with the Department of Defence, preparing executive briefings, supporting key committees, and overseeing secretariat responsibilities.
- Orchestrate cross-functional efforts to drive a holistic, strategy-led approach to stakeholder engagement.
- Deliver actionable insights on government priorities to inform Airservices’ decision-making processes.
- Facilitate the development and execution of stakeholder engagement plans supporting Airservices’ strategy and change agenda.
- Oversee key engagement mechanisms, including chairing or participating in critical committees.
The Person
We are looking for a strategic and influential professional with the ability to drive collaborative outcomes. Your ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence policy will be key to your success.
You will bring:
- Proven experience leading strategic engagement with government stakeholders or working with government clients.
- Expert knowledge of government processes, including Cabinet and Budget cycles, with the ability to influence outcomes.
- Strong relationship-building skills with senior government and internal stakeholders.
- Stakeholder relations expertise combined with business acumen to drive cross-government policy and strategy development.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills to foster collaboration and consensus.
- Desirable: Understanding of Airservices, the aviation sector, and its broader stakeholder environment.
