Summary 
The Western Sydney International Airport (WSIA) Program is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of Airservices’ service delivery expansion at WSIA. The WSIA Program is delivering various aspects of Airservices’ capabilities to enable WSIA to open in 2026: Digital Aerodrome Services (DAS) (including initial DAS capability at Canberra), Airfield Systems (AS), Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS), and Airspace change.

The Role & The Team 
As Senior SESA Engineer, you will be the lead in all Systems Engineering and Engineering Assurance activities. The role will support the program engineering technical authority in all aspects of SESA. Key responsibilities include development, update and implementation of SEMPs, conduct requirements traceability analysis, manage configuration baseline and change, support the development of safety case, V&V, commissioning and O&M readiness activities. 

 The Role will be reporting to the Technical Transition Manager within the Engineering & Technology Team of the portfolio. 

This Role Will Include:

  • Perform systems engineering tasks in accordance with the Airservices' Technology Management Framework (TMF) and other relevant processes, policies and guidelines.
  • All aspect of RAMS analysis
  • Support the development and application of Systems Engineering Management Plan
  • Safety Risk assessment and management (Qualitative & Quantitative approach)
  • Management of Project Hazard Logs and Safety Risk Registers
  • ALARP/SFAIRP argument development
  • Develop RAMS models to support Design
  • RAMS in the Systems Engineering domain
  • Logistic Support Analysis and Support Plan
  • O&M Readiness
  • Provide specialist technical expertise to projects.
  • Actively participate in cross training to develop specialised skills and technologies.
  • Maintain awareness of industry and technology developments, standards and regulations

The Person 
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess: 
Essential:

  • Holds at least a tertiary engineering qualification that is accredited by Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineer Category.  
  • CPEng, NER and CAMA
  • As experience in Speciality Engineering, has at least 3 years experiences in leading position in at least 4 of the following areas:
    • ISO15288, ISO 55001
    • Configuration Management
    • Engineering Management System
    • Engineering Assurance Experience
    • Requirements Traceability
    • V&V
    • SEMP

Preferable:

  • Experience in Systems Engineering and Engineering Assurance work in asset intensive industry and projects such as Rail, Oil & Gas.
