Summary
You will provide technical input on environmental matters to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, approvals and EMS requirements. You will be responsible to develop, maintain and ensure effective implementation of site based environmental and heritage management plans whilst supporting a diverse team of Air Traffic, Airport Fire Fighting and Facilities Management experts.
Reporting to the Environment and Climate Lead, this role will be a key part of a high-performing and accountable team, that contribute towards delivering Airservices' record of Safety, Environmental, WHS, Risk and Compliance excellence

Join Our Team as an Environmental Advisor
With the launch of our ambitious 2024-2030 Environmental Sustainability Strategy, we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to bring this exciting new role to life within our business.
About the Role:
- As the Environmental Advisor, you will provide the on-ground environmental support for operational and project Teams relating to Environmental System Management (EMS) requirements to ensure appropriate risk management and compliance with site obligations. This will include subject matter expertise relating to the management of environmental issues and occurrences (incidents).
- You will provide technical input on environmental matters to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, approvals and EMS requirements. You will be responsible to develop, maintain and ensure effective implementation of site based environmental and heritage management plans whilst supporting a diverse team of Air Traffic, Airport Fire Fighting and Facilities Management experts.
- Reporting to the Environment and Climate Lead, this role will be a key part of a high-performing and accountable team, that supports a multi-disciplinary Noise and Environment branch in the delivery of a range of Environmental and Sustainability initiatives ranging from assessing the risks and impacts of Climate Change to Aviation through to Contaminated Land remediation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Framework Development: Supporting the revision of maintenance of the Airservices Environmental Management System and policy
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to specialist for environmental and sustainability support in operations and projects
- Compliance: Support environmental reporting to ensure we meet federal, state, and airport requirements.
- Data Management: Analysis of data to provide technical insights to climate change, and environmental monitoring data.
- Performance Insights: Provide valuable insights into our environmental and sustainability performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Advisory Role: Advise and support various forums, including Senior Leadership, Executive, Board, and external parties, on environmental and sustainability reporting requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work across the business with a wide range of internal stakeholders.
- Passion for Sustainability: A genuine interest in environmental sustainability and climate change.
- Technical Skills: Experience in EMS or Environmental Project support highly desired,
- ICT: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite essential. PowerBI, ESRI GIS platforms desirable.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences

The Person
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Law (or equivalent)
- Two 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering EMS or Environmental Support
- Experience working with Project teams to deliver environmental outcomes highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.
