The Role & The Team
As the Training Delivery Lead for the CMATS transition, you will lead the planning and delivery of training for air traffic controllers, supervisors, and support staff. Your work will ensure a smooth and safe shift to the new CMATS system, with training aligned to regulatory standards. You will guide strategy, support change, and help integrate CMATS across the workforce.
This role requires an experienced leader with strong expertise in aviation training, regulatory compliance, and operational change. Success will also depend on your ability to engage stakeholders and lead teams effectively. Your contribution will be key to delivering the broader goals of the OneSKY Australia Program.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic training for CMATS and Sydney TCU, partnering with senior leaders to ensure around 700 staff are ready to operate safely and effectively, with training aligned to national airspace goals, program timelines, and Airservices’ broader transformation strategy.
- Lead and oversee all CMATS transition training activities, managing risks, ensuring high performance, and aligning training with project goals, timelines, budgets, and broader organisational objectives.
- Partner with senior stakeholders, including the CMATS Program Director and leadership teams, to ensure training outcomes directly support organisational and program schedule and budget.
- Act as the primary executive interface for all Sydney-based training transformation matters, advising program and organisational leadership on training risk, delivery confidence and workforce readiness

The Person
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive experience leading training in complex, regulated settings and managing large, high-pressure projects successfully.
- Deep understanding of aviation training rules (CASR Parts 65, 143, 172) and competency-based training, with hands-on experience using them in real-world operations.
- Strong skills in working with senior leaders and government officials, with experience managing training and change in complex, high-pressure environments.
- Experienced in leading collaborative teams, managing complex issues, and balancing multiple priorities with strong attention to detail, quality, and compliance.
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in Aviation, Management, Training, Education or related disciplines
- OJTI qualification (desirable)
- ATSWpA qualification (desirable)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
