Summary

Play a key role in shaping environmental outcomes across one of Australia's most complex and nationally significant operational environments. As Environmental Advisor, you'll partner with teams across the country to support sustainability, environmental compliance and risk management initiatives that help keep Australia's skies safe.

The Organisation

Airservices Australia is a government-owned organisation responsible for the safe and efficient management of 11% of the world's airspace and provision of aviation rescue fire fighting services at Australia's busiest airports.

Our people are our greatest asset, with a dynamic and diverse team operating from locations across the country, from bustling cities to regional and remote locations. Together, we help secure the future of Australia's skies and maintain one of the safest aviation systems in the world.

We connect people with their world safely, linking family and friends, generating economic activity, creating jobs, and facilitating trade and tourism.

At Airservices, you'll join a values-driven organisation where people are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, challenge the status quo and contribute to meaningful outcomes that have a lasting impact.

The Role & The Team

Join us at an exciting time as we deliver our 2024-2030 Environmental Sustainability Strategy and continue to strengthen our environmental performance across the organisation.

Reporting to the Environment and Climate Lead, you'll work closely with Air Traffic Services, Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting, and Project teams to provide practical environmental advice, manage risks and support compliance with environmental obligations. No two days are the same. One day you may be assisting with environmental incident management, while the next you could be supporting climate change initiatives, advising project teams or helping implement environmental and heritage management plans.

You'll become part of a high-performing and supportive Noise and Environment team that is passionate about making a positive difference. The team is proud of its collaborative culture, technical expertise and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes across Airservices.

In this role you will:

  • Provide environmental advice and support for operational and project teams across Australia.
  • Support the ongoing development and implementation of the Airservices Environmental Management System.
  • Assist in managing environmental risks, incidents and compliance obligations.
  • Develop and maintain environmental and heritage management plans.
  • Analyse environmental and sustainability data to generate meaningful insights.
  • Contribute to environmental reporting requirements across federal, state and airport regulatory frameworks.
  • Support the delivery of strategic sustainability and climate change initiatives.
  • Provide environmental advice to stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
