Summary

Join Airservices Australia as a Simulator System Administrator (ARFFS) and play a key role in delivering innovative training solutions for Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Service personnel. Working with advanced simulation and virtual reality technologies, you'll manage and operate simulation systems, develop realistic training scenarios, and support the delivery of engaging, high-quality training that helps prepare firefighters for real-world emergency response situations.

The Role & The Team

With you as a Simulator System Administrator (SAA), ARFFS Training will operate and maintain high-quality, high-fidelity simulation technology to support the delivery of accredited and operational training for the Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Service (ARFFS). 

Working with ARFFS Training Instructors you will be responsible for use and maintenance of computer hardware and simulation software, predominately XVR, to develop immersive learning environments with a range of technology. 

You will also engage with external vendors and work collaboratively with other emergency service agencies and industry partners to develop simulation capabilities.

The Person

  • Computer/keyboard/mouse skills and knowledge of typical Microsoft products commensurate with the requirements of the position, with the ability to learn new and apply new technologies
  • Work effectively in a team alongside ARFFS instructional staff and maintain an effective working relationship with other Airservices staff and external stakeholders.
  • Support the hosting of visitors to the simulator through demonstrations
  • Knowledge of gaming systems and simulation hardware (Virtual Reality)
  • An interest in Firefighting, Incident Response and Emergency Management
