The Role & The Team
Join the Next Generation Fleet team delivering a new tranche of Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles. You will balance project work such as developing test plans, conducting vehicle testing, and producing acceptance reports, alongside BAU engineering support across existing fleet assets. Reporting to the Project Engineering Team Lead, you will work closely with fleet, operations, and technical stakeholders to ensure vehicles are safe, fit for purpose, and operationally ready.
You will be part of a collaborative engineering team that drives innovation in emergency response capability, where people take pride in delivering assets that directly support frontline safety outcomes.

The Person
You’re a hands-on mechanical engineer who enjoys both technical problem-solving and real-world testing environments. You’re equally comfortable analysing systems as you are getting out into the field to see how they perform.
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated experience working with vehicles or heavy mechanical systems (ideally emergency services or similar)
- Experience in engineering assessments, testing, validation or project delivery
- Strong ability to investigate issues and provide practical, evidence-based recommendations
- Experience preparing technical reports, specifications or acceptance documentation
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) and eligibility for professional registration
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across diverse stakeholders
