The Role
The National Operations Management Centre (NOMC) is a dynamic business unit with a range of customer centric functions. It is the central point of coordination across the air traffic network ensuring our customers and stakeholders receive world class aeronautical information services and air traffic management on a 24/7 basis.
We are looking for new team members with a passion for aviation to join the Aeronautical Information Officer (AIO) team of the NOMC, delivering NOTAM, Pilot Briefing and AFTN/AMHS Communication Services. NOTAM and Pilot Briefing Services are regulated services under the Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 175, Aeronautical Information Management.
This role is a Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity as defined in the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, 1998
The Person
Timely aeronautical information services require the successful applicant to be flexible, as we will require you to work a 7-day rotational shift roster covering a broad range of hours. You will be enthusiastic within a team environment without any hesitation in delivering consistent customer service, whilst working independently under general direction with the ability to adapt to an ever changing, fast paced environment. In addition, we will require you to have:
- Diligent focus and attention to detail under time pressure
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and be a strong communicator
- Excellent telephone skills
- Growth mindset
Team Culture
Staff enjoy working in the NOMC because no two days are the same. Our workplace is very diverse with staff coming from a wide variety of backgrounds. One to three months of on-the-job-training on any new function ensures our staff feel equipped to deliver our services. The flexibility in balancing work/life that comes with doing shift work is another great motivator for our staff.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated customer focus in a service delivery environment
- Proven data entry capability with high attention to detail
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Computer literate with demonstrated ability to learn new software applications.
- Proven ability to follow process and deliver outcomes within the service industry.
- Significant experience in transport and/or services industry (highly desirable)
- Appropriate tertiary or industry-specific qualifications (desirable)
- Working knowledge of Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 175, Aeronautical Information Management (desirable)
