The Role & The Team

As a Senior Risk Advisor, you’ll report directly to the Risk Lead and work closely with the compliance team, senior leaders, and operational teams to embed fit-for-purpose enterprise risk management (ERM) practices across the organisation. You’ll be a champion of simplicity, insight and influence—making risk accessible, understood, and integral to how we plan, operate, and make decisions.

From refining our frameworks to facilitating risk workshops and leading capability uplift, your work will directly shape how we manage risk at all levels. And you’ll be part of a collaborative, outcome focussed Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team that’s passionate about what they do.

The Person

We’re looking for a passionate risk manager who takes accountability and wants to add genuine value to the business. We value your fresh thinking and integrity — and we offer genuine flexibility, ongoing development, and a supportive, high-trust culture.

You’re an experienced risk professional who thrives in a people-first environment. You combine technical credibility with strong interpersonal skills and are confident engaging everyone from frontline staff to the executive team.

You’re structured in your thinking, proactive in your approach, and skilled at translating complex risk concepts into practical guidance.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, risk, audit, law or a related field and proven experience in enterprise risk management with deep technical knowledge of frameworks like ISO31000, COSO and the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy.
  • Proven success in influencing and advising stakeholders at all levels – from operational teams to senior executives.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills – written, verbal and visual.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and reporting capabilities.
  • A collaborative and curious mindset with a desire to continuously improve.

Bonus points for:

  • Familiarity with GRC systems (especially ServiceNow), data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI), or analytics-driven reporting.
  • Professional memberships or certifications in risk (e.g. RMIA, IRM, GIA).
