Summary

The role as Head of Safety requires you to be an experienced, energetic and solutions-focussed safety leader who is able to challenge constructively, celebrate the wins and “lead by example,” taking all stakeholders on the Airservices’ journey.

The Role & The Team 

As our Head of Safety, you will play a crucial leadership role in guiding a diverse team to design and implement pragmatic strategies that enhance and assure Airservices' safety performance. Your thought leadership will be instrumental in fostering a generative safety culture, where collaboration and engagement are prioritized. 

Your practical and relentless approach to inspiring others to “own it” and, when necessary, “find a better way” will be key to driving results and achieving our safety goals. In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating a safer environment for everyone at Airservices. 

Your skills, qualifications and experience include: 

  • Prior experience in leading Safety transformation, ideally in an aviation context or engineering process environment 
  • Operational experience, ideally in an aviation context 
  • Appropriate professional qualifications in a relevant field of study, with membership of relevant industry bodies desirable  
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and designing strategic frameworks and policy to set and deliver enterprise people and workforce safety objectives across short, medium and long term time frames 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as a resilient leader with demonstrated experience in business partnering and navigating complex work environments  
  • Proven advanced leadership skills and management experience 
  • Advanced data and analytical skills with exemplary quality report writing
