The Role & The Team
We are revolutionizing air traffic control with remote digital capability, leveraging internationally proven technology. This cutting-edge system uses state-of-the-art airfield cameras to give controllers an enhanced 360° view with air traffic control located in a secure remote location. Digital Air Traffic Services (DAS) will be implemented at Canberra Airport and in the new Western Sydney International Airport.
As the Interface Lead, you will report to the WSIA Portfolio Lead and work closely with senior leaders across strategy, engineering, program management, and DAS operations. Your role will focus on managing coordination between different teams, ensuring the program runs smoothly and meets stakeholder expectations. You will play a key part in delivering the WSIA and Canberra DAS projects while overseeing connections with the Aviation Rescue Firefighting Service (ARFFS) and Airspace Systems.
The WSIA Portfolio covers Digital Aerodrome and Airfield Systems at WSIA and Canberra, working closely with adjacent portfolios like Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF), Airspace, Enterprise Network Modernisation Program, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), Enterprise Transformation Office Management (ETOM), and others and to work across disciplines within the WSI Portfolio as well as key external stakeholders.
As the WSIA Interface Lead, you'll support the WSIA Portfolio Lead in building and maintaining a high-performing, accountable team. You will coordinate and integrate across the portfolio’s disciplines, managing impacts to internal and external stakeholders. This role is key to ensuring program synergy and reducing complexity in delivery and reporting.
In this role you are responsible to build strong relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations across groups like the Board, Community, Regulators, Owners, Government, and Airlines. You'll need to stay aware of the political environment and community needs.

The Person
- The successful candidate must have demonstrated tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) commensurate to cross portfolio / program stakeholder engagement and organisational strategy.
- Mega project and / or Priority project (Government sponsored) experience
- High level report writing skills and professional communication experience reporting into Chief Executive, Ministerial and Government Agency levels of large organisations.
- Diversity of experience across the aviation or government sectors is desirable with 10 years or more experience in comparable senior leadership interface and engagement roles in complex multi discipline environments (government facing)
