The Role & The Team

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing Employee Services team delivering practical and commercially focused HR advice across a diverse national workforce.

Reporting to the Employee Services Lead, you will work closely with managers and employees to deliver a diverse range of people-related functions across the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on leading job evaluation, fostering, positive performance and fitness for duty.

As a HR Advisor, you’ll be a part of a collaborative, high-performing team that values professionalism, sound judgement and getting things done well. The Employee Services Team is proud of the support it provides and the positive impact it has on the business.  You’ll be a trusted sounding board for leaders and a key contributor to continuous improvement across people processes.

The Person

You are a trusted HR advisor who combines strong technical expertise with a customer-first mindset. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys advisory work, coaching leaders and managing complex people matters.

The successful applicant will have:

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrated experience providing HR advisory and coaching support to leaders and employees across a broad range of people matters
  • Proven experience conducting job evaluations, job sizing and position classification reviews using job evaluation methodologies such Mercer/Korn Ferry or JEMS trained
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding and supporting managers on management approaches to promote positive performance culture extending across performance management and fitness for duty
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, employment legislation, industrial instruments and organisational frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse workload and competing priorities and be able to navigate ambiguity to deliver outcomes in a complex and changing work demands and environment  
  • Demonstrated strong values‑based behaviour by building trusted relationships, delivering high‑quality and customer‑focused outcomes, and consistently acting with integrity, inclusion and accountability

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a HR Shared Services or People Operations environment
  • Experience using ticketing systems to manage and resolve HR enquiries
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline
  • Current certification as a JEMS evaluator, a qualification in Human Resources or a related field and/or exposure would be highly desirable
  • If not already certified as a JEMS evaluator, a willingness to undertake JEMS evaluation training to obtain certification is essential for appointment to this role
