The Role & The Team

The role can be based in Brisbane or Canberra and with 2 direct reports and reporting to the Head of Finance Strategy & Partnering your hybrid working days will be varied.

You will ideally possess the aptitude and financial ability to:

• • Operate in an environment with multiple interdependent change activities taking place
  • Operate in an environment requiring multi-tasking and fast priority switching
  • Operate without clearly defined solutions to issues and adjust activities quickly as required
  • Identify, document and communicate complex key financial and operational issues and processes
  • Think critically and develop new ways of working to solve delivery and operational transition across the Finance and Performance division

The Person

To be successful in this role you will be an active and collaborative Manager and team member.  You will engage with a range of stakeholders using your experience in applying financial principles in a complex and ever-evolving aviation sector. With your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, as well as resilience and adaptability to operate effectively, you will enjoy mentoring and leading others developing your career and receiving recognition as a key member of the Finance team.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Finance or other business-related field with 15+ years experience in a commercial or financial management role preferable.
• Well-developed financial management and all-round solid finance skills including financial plans, budgeting, budgeting, cost analysis, balance sheet forecasting and performance metrics and reporting processes.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and present financial information across a range of environments to various stakeholders.
• Excellent reporting and research skills.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations
• Project management, planning and change management expertise.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated resilience and adaptability.
• Proven ability to coach and develop your team members with a focus on continuous improvement, best practice, and capability uplift across the team.
• Familiarity with operational tools and automation technologies like ERP, RPA, or workflow management software and advanced Excel.
