We are currently seeking applications from previously trained and rated Air Traffic Controllers who hold a minimum 5 years' ATC operational experience. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and delivery focused professional to build a career in one of Australia's most exciting and forward-thinking organisations.
Training requirements (duration and location) will be based on individual Training Needs Analysis. Training locations may include Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth and duration can be between 1-3 months, dependant on individual experience.
The Person
- Hold a current rating and endorsement in an ATC environment.
- Hold an Aviation English Language Proficiency (AELP) level 6 English language proficiency.
- Have a minimum of five years' ATC operational experience and have been working within an operational ATC environment within the last three years.
- Be able to provide certified documentation and referees to support your application.
- Have or able to gain a Class 3 Medical.
- Undertake training in Australia.
Salary Arrangements
Your commencement salary will be determined and aligned to your years of experience as an air traffic controller:
- Min 5 years of experience (commence training ATC 4 then level 5 when endorsed)
- 6 years of experience (commence training ATC 5 then level 6 when endorsed)
- 7 years of experience (commence training ATC 6 then level 7 when endorsed)
- 8+ years of experience (commence training ATC 7 then level 8 when endorsed)
Licensing as an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) requires attainment of a Class 3 Medical Certificate in accordance with medical standards specified by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). The medical standards are specified in Part 67 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASRs). Any individual who is unable to meet the prescribed medical standards for Air Traffic Controller's will be ineligible to be issued with an ATC licence by CASA, and hence, will automatically be ineligible for ATC training and/or employment with Airservices Australia.

Police Records Check
Airservices Australia recruitment policy requires that any individual being considered for appointment to the organisation undergo a "Police Records Check" which identifies any past convictions, or present or pending criminal charges against that individual. Any offer of training and subsequent employment with Airservices Australia is contingent upon the applicant undergoing a successful check. Applicants who have been living overseas may be required to provide additional information including overseas police records check in English.

Security Clearance
Please note: Over the next few years, Airservices will be introducing new technology and systems including the Civil Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS), which may result in some positions needing to obtain a National Security Clearance in accordance with the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework.
