Engineering Specialist (Mechanical)

TP2B Salary: $131, 005 – $ 150, 399+ 14 % Super (based on experience)  

Airservices Australia is seeking a talented Engineering Specialist (Mechanical) to help shape the infrastructure that supports safe and efficient air traffic management and aviation rescue firefighting services across the country. 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of both large-scale infrastructure projects and sustainment activities that directly support the aviation industry. You’ll work with a dynamic team of professionals to manage mechanical systems such as fuel systems, HVAC, radar drives, and generating sets nationally across Australia. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Provide expert engineering support across mechanical systems and services. 

  • Lead and advise on technical aspects of projects as a System Technical Advisor (SysTA) and Project Technical Lead (PTL). 

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supportability and compliance. 

  • Deliver technical documentation, reports, and presentations to diverse audiences. 

  • Apply systems engineering principles and contribute to continuous improvement. 

  • Ensure safety, compliance, and performance standards are met across all activities.

What you’ll bring: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar). 

  • Eligibility for Professional Engineer registration (e.g. RPEQ). 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering, ideally in design and project delivery. 

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering, Australian Standards, and relevant legislation. 

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or within a high-performing team.
