The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Project & Asset Accounting Senior Specialist, this role is a critical part of the Financial Accounting & Reporting team.

The primary purpose of the role is to assist the Project & Asset Accounting Senior Specialist manage all aspects of Asset Accounting, including, Capitalisations, Disposals, Impairments, and monitoring of Assets Under Construction.  The role will work closely with Asset Planners, Project Managers and Financial Analysts to effectively manage Airservices highly unique and extensive asset portfolio, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and External Reporting requirements

The Person

We are looking for a proactive team player who will contribute towards maintaining an effective working relationship with Airservices leadership and stakeholders. You will also take on a flexible, solution-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively through periods of change and disruption.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience (+5 years) in the business and financial operations of a large commercial organisation, government department or accounting firm
  • Strong stakeholder management and communications skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or related discipline with a demonstrated sound knowledge and practical application of accounting standards, finance management practices and statutory reporting requirements
  • Accredited membership with a professional accounting body in Australia (CPA Australia, CA ANZ) is desirable
  • The capability and motivation to embrace technology and new ways of working
  • Knowledge and experience in working with SAP
  • Advanced Excel Spreadsheet skills
