The Role & The Team
- Join Airservices in a pivotal role driving strategic government and regulatory engagement to shape aviation policy and reform. As a trusted advisor, you will navigate complex government processes, foster high-level relationships, and lead initiatives that align with Airservices’ strategic direction. You will coordinate policy and legislative advice, engage with federal, state, and local representatives, and manage key relationships with Members of Parliament, ministerial advisers and departmental officials. This is a unique opportunity to influence policy, drive regulatory reform, and support corporate objectives while collaborating with senior leaders to shape the future of aviation in Australia.
- Lead Airservices Senate Estimates coordination and associated preparations including executive briefings and development of Question on Notice responses.
- Analyse and understand the political environment and strategically/tactically advise on and take action to manage the potential impact Airservices business, including influencing government policy.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive on complex policy and regulatory issues
- Position Airservices as a trusted advisor to influence government policy, programs and regulatory reforms to support our strategy, build our brand and shape the aviation ecosystem.
- Champion Airservices’ values, build strategic government relationships, shape regulatory reforms, align leadership efforts, and ensure clear, outcome-focused communication.
- Proactively build relationships and engage directly with senior government stakeholders, including Members of Parliament, ministerial advisers and departmental officials.

The Person
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Proven experience in leading strategic engagement with government stakeholders or clients, with strong relationship-building skills at executive and senior levels.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to develop high-quality briefing materials.
- Strong knowledge of government processes, including Cabinet and Budget, and how to influence outcomes within this environment.
- Expertise in stakeholder management, with a track record of building and maintaining relationships at executive and senior leadership levels.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills to foster collaboration and consensus in advancing aviation-related government objectives.
- Desirable knowledge of Airservices, the aviation industry, and its regulatory and stakeholder environment.
