The Role & The Team

As a Technical Assistant you are a critical support enabler with key responsibilities working closely alongside the Brisbane and broader region airways technical maintenance team. The role is very interesting and diverse in nature with primary accountabilities in procurement, material handling and processing of technical administration. You will be required to source and purchase trade materials, manage a pool of technical equipment, undertake logistics freight handling, forklift duties and complete staff administration of regulatory technical competencies.

Our expert team is dedicated to generating purchase orders, undertaking fleet vehicle management and promptly managing the calibration of the maintenance team’s test equipment whilst adhering to the highest standards as mandated by Civil Aviation Regulations. Additionally, this role handles air traffic control rotable spares and materials management, overseeing the freight desk, vehicle fleet management and meticulously handling records and documents to ensure compliance with organisational processes. Airservices Maintenance & Services handle it all, ensuring a smooth workflow for timely and effective airways maintenance outputs to important national air traffic control infrastructure.

Your role within the maintenance operations sphere is supported by Airservices streamlined administration solutions, designed to optimize every aspect of workflow.

The Person

The successful candidate will have:

  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence (Essential).
  • Apply a knowledge and understanding of the equipment, policies, procedures, instructions and other relevant documentation, appropriate to the position. 
  • Plan, organise and perform activities and tasks with limited guidance, for cost effective outcomes.
  • Work with limited guidance, in the delivery of technical administration and logistics support services for the national airways system and associated equipment
  • Possess contemporary IT experience in use of common computer based software platforms (eg. Excel/Word/Project)
  • Be eligible for or possess forklift licence
  • Experience with SAP (desirable)
