We are looking to recruit to the following stations: Alice Springs, Brisbane, Broome, Canberra, Darwin, Gladstone, Hamilton Island, Melbourne, Sydney, Townsville & Whitsunday Coast. These locations may change over the coming months dependent on business needs and internal staff movements. Applicants are encouraged to nominate their preferences in regards to locations where they would be willing to be employed as an Aviation Rescue Fire Fighter. However, any offers will be determined with regards to the operational requirements and positions may not be able to be offered at preferred locations.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aviation Fire Fighters provide rescue and first-aid services for aircraft passengers and crew, deliver technical advice on fire safety and assist in educating users about fire fighting and safety, it's very rare however you will be kept current in your training to rapidly respond to aircraft incidents and fires at airports. You will be required to carry out functions that are both physically and mentally challenging, whilst working to a roster ensuring a good and healthy work-life balance.

EARN AS YOU LEARN

The recruit training course in Melbourne which runs for 15 weeks will be one of the most challenging but rewarding experiences of your career. You will be required to commence a training program in September 2023 (RC99) where you will become skilled in aviation firefighting, first aid and rescue before commencing as an operational Aviation Firefighter.

Throughout the approximate 15 week training program which combines extensive theory components as well as practical training, you will earn $48,622 per annum plus superannuation. When you obtain your qualification, your salary will increase to $68,094 per annum plus superannuation.

ENTRY STANDARDS & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

All applicants, including those who have previously submitted an Expression of Interest, must submit a formal application online and meet the minimum entry standards. Applicants must be available to attend a physical assessment during May 2023 (locations to be confirmed) and an assessment centre in approximately June / July 2023 (locations to be confirmed).
