The Role

As a Finance Specialist, reporting to and providing key financial management support to the OneSKY Finance and Procurement Manager and Senior Finance Specialist, you will be working as part of a joint team comprising Airservices and Department of Defence personnel.

You will be responsible for delivering financial processes and analysis to support the objectives of the OneSKY Program. Your role will see you as the main point of contact for OneSKY Project Managers with respect to financial matters.

You will be involved in a range of activities including the analysis and reporting of financial and related business information, improvement of financial processes, and administration of the budgeting and forecasting for the OneSKY Program.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Provide financial management support to OneSKY including financial plans/ budgets/ forecasts, month-end accounting processes and financial reporting processes
  • Implement project accounting processes to ensure costs are appropriately recorded
  • Assist with ongoing financial aspects of all contracts within OneSKY
  • Design ongoing improvements to financial processes
  • Administering approved general accounting practices within OneSKY
  • Act as the key contact for OneSKY Project Managers including being the finance representative at monthly project review meetings.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models
  • Prepare Investment Submissions, providing input to Asset Impact Statements and coordination of capitalisation of completed assets

The Person

To be successful in this role you will be an active and collaborative team member.  You will engage with a range of stakeholders across OneSKY using your experience in applying financial principles in a complex project environment. With your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, as well as resilience and adaptability to operate effectively in a changing environment, you will develop your career and be a key member of the OneSKY Program.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Well-developed management and project accounting skills including budgeting, forecasting and reporting on large projects
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and present financial information across a range of environments to various stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and present innovative solutions and influence outcomes in a timely manner
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated resilience and adaptability to operate effectively in a complex project environment
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related discipline
  • Detailed knowledge of, and experience in using, SAP, and advanced Excel skills
