The Role & The Team

Environmental management is a career of the future. The care and management of our environment is a primary concern for Airservices like in all organisations. As an Environment Change Specialist at Airservices you will provide advice guidance and support for the implementation of project and operational change activities to ensure the changes are made in accordance with our environmental obligations and legislative requirements. This is a role that will expose you to exciting diversity and opportunity in the day-to-day work. Airservices is involved in works such as the refurbishment of the Sydney Control Tower that has significant heritage value and works on airport sites across the country that contain flora, fauna and PFAS considerations.  You will work in a vibrant team that supports one another and knows how to have fun. We give emphasis to a work life balance and encourage professional development and training.

You will be supported by an experienced team who will help you to learn and grow. Your team prides itself in customer service and is passionate about the environment. You will work with cutting edge technical systems to measure and model environmental impacts and you will engage with a diverse stakeholder group including the Aircraft Noise Ombudsman, Noise Complaints and Information Service Air Traffic Control leaders, aircraft operators and government and regulatory staff.

The Person

You will be able to work to deadlines and solve problems, but you will also work well as part of a team. You will possess high quality communication skills and be reliable.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environment or another relevant discipline or equivalent experience (essential).
  • Experience in the management of a broad range of environmental issues and/or in a geographically diverse organisation to deliver practical solutions.
  • Understanding of key contemporary environmental issues, particularly as they relate to aviation, geographically diverse organisations and community expectations.
  • Experience in delivering business objectives within budget and time constraints and providing high quality and accurate advice and support.
  • Sound written and oral communication skills including capacity to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Networking, representation, negotiation, and liaison skills (or ability to acquire), as well as a demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
