The Organisation

Airservices is a government owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry.
Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace.

The Role

  • Perform systems engineering and project tasks throughout acquisition and implementation phases in accordance with Airservices safety and system management policies, frameworks, guidelines and procedures, ensuring that Airservices requirements are defined and met.
  • Prepare documentation related to implementation and upgrade activities such as system requirements specifications, statement of requirements, project proposals, detailed cost estimates
  • Provide specialist technical expertise to projects
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact for technical matters regarding the Program’s engineering and technical issues
  • Demonstrate awareness of industry and technology developments, standards and regulations

The Person

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder and vendor management
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and work as a senior member of a dynamic team, including ability to work under limited direction to achieve positive outcomes
  • Strong documentation skills with experience in preparing and reviewing solution architecture documents and system design documents, including alignment to strategies and existing initiatives
  • Proven ability to successfully implement new systems in a complex, diverse and highly regulated environment

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • A degree in an infrastructure engineering discipline from an Australian tertiary institution or certified equivalent qualification
  • A sound understanding of and demonstrated experience applying Systems Engineering practices throughout the SDLC and system management processes
  • Understanding of risk management and its application in the delivery of the project
  • Preferred experience in designing, maintaining and supporting critical infrastructure systems
  • Satisfy the eligibility requirements for registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia (highly desirable)

Security Clearance

To be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian citizen as an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance is required for this role.
