The Role & The Team
To continue the success of our business & delivery of services to our clients, we are looking for a strong operational leader to manage the day-to-day operations & delivery of our Air Traffic Management (ATM) services, as we provide safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry and community.
This role is accountable for Service Delivery, People, WHS and Cost within your designated area of operation. You will be responsible for autonomous decision making, whilst forming positive working relationships with your staff, building a positive working environment and creating a high performing team.
Reporting into the Aerodrome and Airspace Services Head you will be accountable for the management, engagement and performance for all ATM Operators & Support Staff for our Brisbane location.
Additional key position responsibilities include the following:
- Minimise ASA attributable ground delays and service variations
- Identify new and emerging risks
- Meet budgetary targets and provide variance analysis
- Drive accountability & results through team collaboration & leadership
- Manage workforce planning & rostering including planned & unplanned leave
- Identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement
- Be accountable for all costs associated unit commercials as the budget holder
- Devise & communicate the local and broader strategic direction of the unit
- Define & monitor team performance, upskilling & succession planning
- Be accountable for all work, health and safety aspects of our people
- May require 7-day rotating roster and/or weekend escalation responsibilities

The Person
Considering the nature of this position and the impact it has on our people, clients and operational output, we are looking for those that possess strong people leadership, innovative ways of working and the ability to run complex operational environments.
In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Management, Business or a Technical field (desirable)
- Previous operational management experience within similar environments
- Extensive people management and leadership capabilities
- Demonstratable understanding of safety and risk management
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to think strategically with a strong sense of commercial and business needs
- Ability to make sound business decisions quickly & confidently
