The Role & The Team

As Head of Transformation, Projects & Implementation, you will lead the SLUI function. Reporting directly to the Chief Airspace Network Officer, you will be accountable for the planning, delivery, and execution of a portfolio of projects that enable Aerodromes, Airspace, and Networks teams to implement strategic change. Your leadership will ensure these initiatives deliver maximum benefits and sustainable outcomes aligned with Airservices Australia’s objectives.

You will act as the key connection point between the Change Program, EPMO, and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), ensuring timely decision-making, effective issue escalation, and strong stakeholder engagement—including at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire teams—both directly and indirectly—behind the change plan, elevating conversations to focus on performance and outcomes.
  • Drive enterprise alignment by connecting planned activities with upstream and downstream stakeholders to maximise collective impact.
  • Manage and mentor program managers, project managers, and delivery teams to achieve organisational and functional objectives.
  • Prepare and present materials for Board, ELT, and Portfolio Board meetings, ensuring clarity and alignment on decisions and priorities.
  • Collaborate across portfolios to identify efficiencies and optimise organisational performance.

The Person

We are seeking a strategic leader with:

  • Proven experience in business strategy, engagement, cultural alignment, and change management.
  • A track record of delivering large-scale transformation projects in complex organisations.
  • Expertise in portfolio, program, and project management principles.
  • Ability to critically review and accelerate initiatives, ensuring sustainable benefits.
  • Deep knowledge of transformation methodologies (e.g., McKinsey RTS or equivalent).
  • Relevant qualifications in Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and coaching skills, with the ability to execute in short intervals.
