The Role and the Team
As a key member of the Capital Portfolio Management Branch leadership group, you’ll lead the governance and improvement function for the organisation. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Run the secretariat function for the Capital Investment Committee (and associated committees)
- Ensuring compliance with the Capital Portfolio Management Framework,
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for improving capital investment portfolio management standards and templates
- Embedding continuous improvement practices across the Branch and broader capital investment ecosystem
You’ll work closely with portfolio leads, project managers, and senior stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and informed investment decisions.

The Person
A confident leader who thrives in complex environments you influence strategic direction and bring clarity under pressure. Being able to foster collaboration is second nature, and you maintain a positive, solution-focused approach. Your ability to remain calm in the face of urgent decisions and manage critical requests methodically and communicate effectively will be key.
What You Will Bring
Experience: Considerable expertise in governance, portfolio management, capital investment finance or similar discipline, with strong governance acumen and exposure to portfolio or project management.
Skills: Leadership, stakeholder engagement, ability to guide stakeholders and the ability to create compelling presentations and reports.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field and/or experience
Attributes: Adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to fostering a ‘can-do’ culture within your team.
