Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace.

Airservices Australia is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the strategic direction, governance, and operational delivery of contract and sourcing activities within our Facilities & Property Group. This high-impact role ensures value-for-money outcomes, regulatory compliance, and service excellence across a diverse portfolio of facilities management services contracts, fleet operations contracts, minor works project and asset management planning contracts.  

As Team Leader – Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management, you will: 

  • Lead a team of Contract Managers focused on delivery excellence and operational support across contracts in the Facilities, Property & Fleet space. 

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle—from tendering and negotiation to execution, performance monitoring, and renewal. 

  • Oversee services including fire protection, cleaning, catering, grounds maintenance, fleet, and engineering maintenance, supporting both reactive and planned works. 

  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives, including contracts due for Request for Tender (RFT). 

  • Ensure alignment with internal governance, regulatory frameworks, and organisational goals. 

  • Collaborate across the Facilities & Property team to support project delivery and asset lifecycle planning. 

  • Champion continuous improvement in procurement practices and supplier performance. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement procurement frameworks and governance models. 

  • Lead supplier and subcontractor management, ensuring alignment with KPIs and compliance standards. 

  • Monitor budget performance, forecasting, and cost optimisation. 

  • Ensure contracts meet WHS, environmental, and statutory requirements. 

  • Foster a culture of safety, integrity, and high performance. 

  • Promote capability uplift in procurement and contract management across the team. 

  • Identify opportunities to enhance contract terms, reduce costs, and expand service scope.

About You 

You are a strategic thinker and experienced leader with: 

  • Extensive experience in facilities management, fleet operations, and strategic sourcing across complex, multi-site environments. 

  • Proven ability to lead contract governance, supplier performance, and procurement strategy. 

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills. 

  • Demonstrated experience in aviation, property, FM, and fleet management sectors. 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities. 

  • Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements in facilities and maintenance contracts. 

  • Relevant qualifications or training in Procurement and/or Contract Management.
