The Role & The Team:
The Senior Project Manager will lead all aspects of the assigned projects within the OneSKY CMATS Program, engage with a range of stakeholders, and report effectively to ensure the successful delivery of each project is achieved. These activities will be conducted in accordance with Airservices and regulatory frameworks.
The successful applicant will work as part of a joint team combining Airservices and Department of Defence personnel focused on the delivery of technology and capability required to deliver OneSKY.
You will form an integral part of the OneSKY Australia Program team; be high-performing, accountable; and continue to deliver Airservices record of safety, environmental, WHS, risk and compliance excellence.
Position specific:
- Lead a team of Project specialists, accountable for the oversight of the design, development and test of specific technology, including its installation, deployment, and test at Defence sites.
- Ensure that systems and solutions are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure assigned works are delivered in accordance with time, cost and quality expectations.
- Provide regular, timely project reporting to the Program Director.
- Develop robust and productive relationships with key suppliers to deliver as one.
- Track project progress and provide accurate and timely reports on project status
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
- Management and continuous improvement of processes as defined in the OneSKY plans.
- Manage project budgets and ensure monthly financial statements, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets are accurate.
- Be an active and knowledgeable member of Project Governance Groups.
- Manage a mix of internal and external technical and non-technical staff to achieve project outcomes in line with the Project Management Framework.
- Provide direction and support to interdependent projects across the wider OneSKY Program

The Person
The successful applicant will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in either an IT, commercial, engineering or other relevant subject.
- Qualifications in project management methodologies (Prince 2, PMBOK or equivalent).
- Detailed knowledge of software development process, physical and software deployment stages, and project management tools including Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrated experience in Project and Program Management
- Demonstrated ability to drive, deliver and sustain project delivery to achieve objectives in a complex technical environment.
- An understanding of systems engineering and systems integration principles, ideally through experience working for a Prime Systems Integrator.
- Demonstrated experience working with key commercial suppliers to deliver collaboratively.
- Demonstrated values-based leadership, and ability to build organisational capability and culture.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships to facilitate partnerships and cooperation.
- Diversity of experience across the private and public sectors is desirable.
- Proven ability to manage and moderate the expectations of a wide group of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in leading people including building relationships, teamwork, managing change, conflict resolution, time management, delegation and process improvement
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects to meet cost, time, quality, and scope, including financial reconciliations.
- Demonstrated sound judgement and business acumen, with a focus on results.
- Desired experience in aviation / air traffic management systems.
- Desired experience working within an Australian Defence environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including stakeholder, vendor and senior executive interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organisation, drawing on other program capabilities (e.g. program assurance, transition planning and logistics).
Security Clearance
