The Role & The Team
The Enterprise Network Modernisation Program (ENMP) will deliver updates to operational (mission-critical) and corporate networks that will ensure existing systems remain connected to deliver safe, efficient and effective Air Navigation and Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting services; as well as enabling enhancements to support future requirements for Civil and Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS), Remote Service Delivery and the Flexible Use of Airspace.
Airservices has commenced a multi-year program of work to modernise our network to enable a strategic change agenda. Over the next few years, ENMP will undertake an ambitious transformation program which will transition to a new IP-based network with new terrestrial, microwave, and satellite components, and move to a managed service provider / vendor operated model.
As the ENMP Senior Protective Security Risk Specialist (Personnel), your responsibilities will include provision of specialist security advice and implementation of personnel security requirements across Airservices, managing the administration of Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASIC) and Australian Government security clearances in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and other relevant Government directives.
In addition to these priority functions, you will provide general security advice for personnel security matters across Airservices and assist with the development of Airservices’ compliance with the PSPF.
The role works closely with business, portfolio and project peers and is required to develop constructive relationships with several senior staff members across Airservices.

The Person
We are seeking a dynamic and resilient individual ready to make a significant impact within a high-performing and forward-thinking team in safeguarding Airservices' legacy of excellence in safety, security, and compliance.
The successful applicant will have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a protective security role, ideally specific to personnel security and/or vetting.
- Thorough and contemporary knowledge of the PSPF. Knowledge of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) is desirable but not essential.
- A sensible, risk-based approach to protective security appropriate for an organisation experiencing rapid uplift in an evolving security environment.
- Experience in external stakeholder management, particularly in relation to Government agencies including accreditation and authorisation bodies.
- Experience developing and implementing internal audit and assurance programs.
- Experience in fact-finding and investigation processes related to security incidents or near-misses, including the implementation of remediation plans.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced competency skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365).
- A Certificate IV in Personnel Vetting, Security Risk Management or equivalent qualification is desirable.

Security Clearance
To be eligible to apply, you will require an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance or the ability to obtain one (including a minimum of 10-year checkable background). Australian citizenship is a requirement.
