As Project Scheduler you will develop, analyse and manage project schedules and provide advice and reports to assigned Project Managers on overall project schedule performance in order to support the delivery of outcomes and enable benefits related to the organisation’s strategic objectives.

The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Project Scheduling Team Leader, you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of projects through the development and refinement of assigned project schedules. Leading the planning process, you will guide the project team through development of a Work Breakdown Structure, building and coding a schedule to Airservices standards, complete with resource assignments. You will conduct schedule and resource analysis, maintain inter-project dependencies and support resource demand, month end reporting and financial forecasting to enable successful project delivery.

You will also ensure data quality is managed through schedule health checks, regular liaison with Project Managers and that the schedule maintained in line with organisational governance requirements, management policies and standards.

You will be part of a collaborative and inclusive scheduling team, maintaining effective working relationships with both scheduling and project team members, stakeholders and other Airservices staff to ensure a focused and coordinated effort towards project activities and more broadly, the support of organisational objectives.

In practice you could be supporting projects in areas of construction, technology or engineering. Example projects are new fire stations, fire vehicle fleets, cutting edge air traffic control systems, airport expansions or replacing radio communications systems. Projects are varied, interesting and complex!

The Person

The successful applicant will have:

  • Industry experience in project scheduling, preferably with resource loaded schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of technical applications, Microsoft Project Scheduling software, Microsoft Office, Visio and SharePoint, PowerBI and/or equivalents
  • Experience in a project server or project online environment using a shared resource pool to develop schedules with respect to other organisational commitments and projects
  • An understanding of project governance
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, paying attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under limited supervision and manage competing priorities and timeframes
  • Ability to work as part of a team of schedulers
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

At Airservices we value scheduling experience using tools such as Project Server or Project Online, assigning resources from a shared enterprise resource pool to construct budgets and forecasts from schedules.
