Airservices is undertaking a program to investigate, manage and remediate PFAS contamination at Airservices Facilities across Australia. The Role & The Team

The position works with a team of specialists to identify, and manage requirements, approaches and risks associated with the delivery of the Airservices PFAS strategy. This key role will manage the PFAS portfolio to ensure works are undertaken in compliance with relevant national and state legislation and Airservices policies and procedures. You will lead a team of specialists who provide technical expertise and guidance to facilitate PFAS investigations and solutions.

As part of your charter you will identify emerging risks across the PFAS portfolio and ensure that stakeholders are engaged to tactically mitigate risks in line with the PFAS strategy. You will work across the organisation to manage PFAS operations across various sites and manage multiple priorities in parallel to ensure timely delivery.

Key Functions of the role include your ability to:

• Develop, manage and maintain the Airservices PFAS strategy and associated initiatives across Airservices sites

• Coordinate with technical experts and contractor’s to embed characterisation, investigations and identification of management actions

• Apply project management disciplines to the team’s work in the PFAS Program and coordinate resourcing assessments, scheduling, contract engagement, execution, management, manage and optimise program expenditure

• Identify, manage and communicate PFAS risks (enterprise, functional and operational)

• Collaboratively manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of PFAS delivery and respond agilely and to changing demands

The Person

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage and develop a team of specialists to delivery desired outcomes in support of service provision and project delivery
  • A strong business acumen and customer services focus, with proven abilities to develop, implement and champion strategic improvement programs and initiatives
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills including a strong capacity to communicate with influence to diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate, research, analyse and report conclusions and recommendations
  • Sound understanding of key contemporary environmental issues, particularly (and ideally) as they relate to Airservices in a geographically diverse organisation whilst meeting and exceeding community expectations
  • Ability to network, influence, negotiate and liaise with a variety of stakeholders including the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure desired outcomes are achieved
