Utilise your systems engineering experience in Aviation Navigation, with scope to also work across Aviation Surveillance and Communications, to optimise the asset lifecycle and drive the future strategic direction.

The Role & The Team

Reporting to the CNS&A Lifecycle Management Lead, you will:

  • Ensure Lifecycle Management objectives and outcomes are successfully achieved through the application of best practice in asset management, domain technical knowledge and effective interpersonal skills;
  • Elicit, analyse and manage system requirements through their asset lifecycle whilst utilising strong systems engineering knowledge and experience;
  • Support transformation of the asset base through innovated ideas to support asset transformation in the areas of sourcing, integration and delivery;
  • Bring a strong business and technical acumen to support investment decisions that support the realisation of strategic objectives.

The Person

The successful applicant will have:

  • Strong systems engineering knowledge and experience
  • Strong business and technical acumen and experience working on Navigation Assets. Experience in the similar areas of Communications and Surveillance, with a strong motivation to develop knowledge in the area of Navigation, will also be considered;
  • Knowledge and experience working within established asset management frameworks;
  • The ability to define and lead a body of work based on a desired outcome, influencing others across the value chain in the process;
  • Builds and maintains effective and cordial working relationships at all levels, to ensure outcomes are managed and achieved;
  • Shall be excited for leading and setting strategic asset direction in line with the strategic and corporate objectives.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering, eligible for registration at the Chartered level by a recognised professional body and hold registration as a Professional Engineer in relevant area of engineering (RPEQ/RPEV);
  • Mature Systems Engineering including Requirements Elicitation, RMA analytics and Risk Management as applied to CNS systems;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise with respect to Communication, Navigation or Surveillance systems, with a preference for Navigation experience..
  • Ability to operate in a technically complex and regulated environment, relating to policies and procedures as necessary;
  • Applied business thinking in relation to benefits identification and assessment, system lifecycle cost analysis, TCO and value determination and optimisation techniques;
  • Experience with supplier contract development/management;
  • Demonstrable experience involving data-driven decision making to optimise technical and financial performance of CNS systems supporting a complex operational environment;
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to converse and prepare written documentation and engage with and influence both internal and external audiences.
