The Role

Your primary role as a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist and Project Technical Lead will be to provide project technical leadership and advanced systems engineering expertise for the specification, procurement and implementation of Meteorological Display Systems for Air Traffic Control towers at several locations across Australia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior systems engineer with several years’ experience in a lead engineering role to participate in delivering improvements to Air Traffic Control services in Australia.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • Extensive experience and understanding of technologies, devices, applications and protocols used in low level data communications (e.g. RS232/422/485) and system monitoring (e.g. SNMP).
  • Good practical understanding of electronic and electrical circuits (fuses, relays, batteries, low voltage AC/DC etc.).
  • Expertise in configuring, administering and managing computer operating systems and hardware.
  • Experience in providing engineering support for the procurement and implementation of complex systems, including investigation, management and resolution of technical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under limited direction as a senior member of a dynamic team and provide technical leadership for completion of projects and support activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prepare and present high quality technical and non-technical documents, reports, reviews and procedures for a range of audiences.
  • A degree in Electronics, Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering from an Australian Tertiary Institution, or certified equivalent international qualification, that is eligible for registration with the Board of Professional Engineers Queensland.

Security Clearance

To be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian citizen as the ability to obtain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance may be required for this role.
